The 2015 edition of the Brazilian biennial Jacques Danon Meeting (XIX
EJDEM) on Mössbauer spectroscopy was held in the city of Diamantina
(state of Minas Gerais, Southern Brazil) from December 14 to 16, 2015.
About forty-five participants, including researchers and graduate and
undergraduate students from all around Brazil, but also from Peru,
discussed their studies involving Mössbauer spectroscopy in a friendly
atmosphere of an open interchange of ideas involving the reporting of
many general aspects of scientific achievements. Policies related to
the Mössbauer laboratories and current perspectives for future
collaborative work were also discussed. This meeting was organized by
Mössbauer researchers from the Federal University of the Jequitinhonha
and Mucuri Valleys (UFVJM) in Diamantina. The Organizing Committee was
chaired by Dr. Manoel J. M. Pires (UFVJM). More information is

The previous EJDEM 2009 was held in the city of Natal (state of Rio
Grande do Norte) from November 11 to 14, 2013 (https://dfte.ufrn.br/ejdem/Attached_files/)
and was chaired by Drs Suzana N. de Medeiros and José H. de Araújo
(Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte). The next meeting, the XX
Jacques Danon meeting, is scheduled to be held in 2017 at the campus of
the Federal University of Espírito Santo in the seaside city of São
Mateus, state of Espírito Santo.
