NAMIS2020 Announcement

      May 15th-16th, 2020

This conference aims to bring together scientists and practiti oners of Mössbauer spectroscopy from North America and to also to attract international participants. The Mössbauer Spectroscopy technique is an established method used by many different disciplines including, chemistry, physics, biology, geology, mineralogy, soil science, materials science and archeology and cultural heritage. The addition of synchrotron radiation based techniques has now extended the kind of information that can be extracted to include thermoelastic properties like sound velocity, vibrational specific heat, absolute value of atomic displacement, and phonon density of states.




Furthermore, experiments under extreme conditions of temperature and pressure have now become common. With its unique depth and breadth, Mössbauer spectroscopy and nuclear resonant scattering of synchrotron radiation will continue to provide detailed understanding of physical, chemical, biological, and geological processes, earthly and extra-terrestrial alike. We plan to bring researchers from these diverse fields together for a two days symposium, and provide a chance to meet with each other in a formal and informal setting.



We particularly encourage student participation by sending their abstracts, which will be evaluated for oral and poster slots.
